Welcome to the Great Outdoors
Whether you are here to enjoy a picnic or plan to spend hours in meandering through our gardens, the Chattanooga Arboretum and Nature Center is a great place to experience the wonder of nature, and reflect on our role in preserving it for the future generations.
Nestled at the foot of Lookout Mountain, you will find the Chattanooga Arboretum and Nature Center, one of the area's most historic and scenic natural wonders. Discover 317 acres of forest, field and stream.
Walk, bike or drive around the Reflection Riding Loop to experience its beautiful gardens, lush forests, and colorful wildflower meadows. Be prepared to encounter native wildlife, including deer, turkey, beaver, and many species of birds that live on this unique landscape.
Travel in the footsteps of early Tennessee Valley Native Americans, pioneer settlers and Civil War soldiers. Step inside the restored log homes of Cherokee Chief Walking Stick or Squincy Bird, and walk a section of the ancient Cisca Trail.
Visit the unique George S. Bryan Discovery Forest Treehouse and the Paddler's Perch located on the banks of Lookout Creek. Follow the Blue Heron Boardwalk to the Wildlife Wanderland, where you can observe captive native animals including the highly endangered Red Wolves.
CA&NC has something for everyone, from a leisurely picnic under the trees, or a paddle down the creek, to a heart-pumping hike on the 15 miles of trails. It is all yours to explore!
